The most Augusta tax rule ever written.

Rent your personal residence for 14 or fewer days a year and federal law (IRS §280A(g)) generally excludes that income from your federal taxable income for those who qualify. No schedule, no depreciation on those days. It's called the Augusta Rule because of exactly what you're thinking of doing: tournament week is 7 nights, half the allowance.

What could your week be worth?

≤ 14 days

Stay at 14 or fewer rental days across the whole year for the exclusion to apply. Every rental day counts, everywhere you rent.

Market rate

The rent must be reasonable for what and when you're renting. Masters week rates are well documented. We price you inside the market's own published bands.

Paper trail

Keep the agreement, the payment record, and the rate justification. Par 3 generates all three for every booking.

This page is a plain-English explanation and an illustration: not tax, legal, or financial advice, and Par 3 doesn't give any. Whether the rule applies depends on your situation; your CPA gets the final word, and the documentation we hand you makes that conversation a short one.
